ELDERLY LONELINESS

Loneliness is very real,
To the aged and elderly;
This lonely path everyone must trot,
Whether we are single or married!
Groups of old people hoard together,
For companionship each morning;
Chattering and bemoaning,
Their aches and pains!
Who would understand their suffering,
Except those who wear their shoes!
Watch them lingering before parting,
Not knowing if they would meet the next morning!
Each day the scene is being replayed,
Till one by one fails to awake;
Only those who have filial children,
Can seek solace within the family!
Even they have their own lives to live,
Without loading them with another burden;
Do have compassion and empathy,
When we see an aged elderly;
Just think when would we be wearing their shoes,
And join their company!
