THE REPOSE OF A BELOVED
You closed your eyes in sweet repose,
With a Mona Lisa smile you posed,
Peaceful and serene you bade me farewell,
Leaving behind an empty shell.
Like a butterfly, I saw you soar,
Out of the window and not through the door;
A white chariot in mid-air waited,
Seated like a princess, you waved.
Heavenly music filled the air,
Seraphims and cherubins lining the stairs;
The splendid matchless grandeur of the scene,
Made my aching heart and sorrowful mind serene!
Happy times we had fell like torrential rain,
Soaking my soul with joy without restrain,
This parting is just temporal,
I’ll be with you soon is eternal!
