Dove-cotes stack high reaching the sky,
Our humble abode we reside,
Cold and unfeeling each unit stands,
Neighbours are strangers– not friends!
Each unit closes its doors,
Oblivious to what happens next door;
Lively within, stone cold outside,
The corridors are long and narrow,
Meeting each other — never a hello;
In the lifts everyone is dumb,
One looks at the ceiling, the other the door,
The third on the mobile, the fourth the floor!
No smiles, no contact, no interaction,
Each being isolated by an invisible wall;
Are we moving towards a new society,,
Evolving into a new community;
Following the precepts of the three monkeys,
See not, hear not and speak not?
