The golden years are twilight years,
We can rest on the laurels we have had,
Time is no more an enemy,
But a friendly foe and comforter!
We have had our shares of ups and downs,
The roller-coaster of life has had its run,
Now on the plain it slows down its pace,
To accommodate the hardy remnant of us die-hearts,
Holding on to life’s challenges of Time,
We have become the friendly foes of Time;
What else can the old folks do,
But to blow the trumpet of their youth;
With toothless lips the trumpets sound so strange,
Only they can understand the music they play,
Life goes on while the train of Time jugs on,
Till one by one each of us alight from this train,
It will gather its momentum when the last one alights!
